GP Plywood Sdn Bhd ("GPPLY") formerly known as Permint Plywood Sdn Bhd,  a wholly-owned subsidiary of Golden Pharos Berhad (“GPB”) , was incorporated on 27 April 1981. It started operations in May 1983 at Bandar Al Muktafi Billah Shah, Dungun, Terengganu and was acquired by Permint Timber Corporation Sdn Bhd (“PTC”) in 1996 through a reverse takeover by GPB. GPPLY’s principal activities are the production and sale of veneer and plywood. The plywood factory has a production capacity of about 5,000 cubic metres per month. GPPLY produced different grades of plywood mainly used in the housing and furniture industry and exported to India, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Singapore.

 

Afterwards, the company continues to look into various initiatives that will benefit all stakeholders in the short and long terms. Among others, PPSB has started producing woodchip in June 2016 to maximize the value of the Group's wood waste The company is in the process of refurbishing its factory and will start producing veneer and plywood once all the relevant processes have been completed.
